White Venture Capital is a fintech-focused early-stage venture fund launched in January 2022 with a $40 million corpus (roughly ₹300 crore) — and unusual founders. They aren't career financiers; they are the operators who built some of India's biggest fintech companies. The fund is led by Sweta Rau as CEO, founder and general partner, with Amrish Rau (CEO of Pine Labs) and Jitendra Gupta (co-founder of Jupiter and Citrus Pay) as limited partners and advisors.

Investment thesis

White Venture Capital calls itself an operator-led, value-add VC: the fund competes on the value it adds to founders, not on cheque size or valuation. The pitch is simple — when this fund backs you, it acts as a signal to the rest of the market, and you get access to experienced founders and operators who mentor you on idea choice, fundraise timing and fintech execution.

The firm's thesis also rests on its own angel track record. The trio angel-invested together since 2016 in 70–100+ companies — including CRED, Mobile Premier League (MPL), M2P Fintech, Open, Khatabook and Dunzo — with at least eight becoming worth $500 million or more and blockbuster exits in CRED and MPL (all reported by the Economic Times).

Funds, stages and cheque sizes

The fund was announced in January 2022 with a $40 million corpus, roughly $15 million of it the founders' own capital. It invests primarily in early-stage fintech — seed to Series A — with roughly 30% of the corpus reserved for non-fintech bets in SaaS and consumer tech. Most of the capital is deployed in India, with about one-third earmarked for Southeast Asia. The fund is headquartered in Singapore.

Initial cheques are $250,000–$1 million, with follow-ons taking total per-company investment to $3–5 million. Its LP roster reads like a fintech who's-who: Sequoia Capital India (one of the largest sponsors), Credit Saison, TVF Capital, Hummingbird Ventures, 3one4 Capital, Beenext Ventures, plus founders Kunal Shah, Ankur Warikoo and Prajit Nanu.

Notable portfolio

As a fund, White Venture Capital led the $2.5 million seed round of Finodaya Capital in April 2025 at a ₹50 crore post-money valuation, and co-led the ₹9.5 crore pre-seed round of Frex (cross-border payments for immigrants) with Zeropearl VC in December 2025.

No startup credits or perks are publicly disclosed by the fund.

How to engage

There is no standing public pitch email. The firm's documented route for founders was its "Call to Adventure" programme, announced in November 2022 to help industry executives, ex-founders and aspiring entrepreneurs build startups — a first batch of 4–6 ideas, a $500,000 equity investment per startup, and the fund paying entrepreneurs a salary while they build. Whether it is still running has not been publicly confirmed since.

Why it matters for founders

If you are building in fintech — payments, lending, insurance, cross-border — this is operator capital with a track record: CRED, MPL, Pine Labs, Jupiter. The fund's backing carries weight in follow-on rounds and its thesis is value-add over valuation. The catch: no published pitch email, so use its structured programmes and warm intros through the operator network.
