Indian startup funding dropped sharply in the week of 5–10 October 2026, with startups raising $113.35 million across 28 deals — down more than 72% from the previous week's $411.46 million, according to Entrackr's weekly tracker. Inc42's count put the week's tally at $122.9 million across 25 deals (5–9 October), down 47.4% from $233.6 million the week before.

Growth-stage deals

Growth-stage startups raised $55.3 million across 3 deals. Lifestyle-tech brand DailyObjects led the week with Rs 332 crore (~$35 million) in a Series C backed by Xponentia Capital Partners, Anicut Capital and Axiom Asia Private Capital, combining primary capital with secondary share sales at a post-money valuation of about Rs 1,050 crore. Smart kitchen appliance startup Beyond Appliances raised Rs 110 crore ($11.4 million) in a Series B led by Fireside Ventures, while MSME-focused digital lender NeoGrowth secured Rs 85 crore in equity and debt from FMO and LeapFrog Investments.

Early-stage deals

Early-stage startups raised $58.05 million across 22 deals. Photonic quantum computing company Quanfluence led with $10 million from Chiratae Ventures and Rainmatter, followed by edtech startup byteXL with $9 million from Elevar Equity. Medtech company Sunfox Technologies raised $7 million in a Series A, while QpiAI secured Rs 50 crore in venture debt from InnoVen Capital. Seed rounds dominated the week with 13 deals; pre-seed and Series A reported five each.

Sectors, cities, exits

E-commerce led with 8 deals, followed by AI (5) and healthtech (4). Bengaluru recorded 10 deals, Delhi-NCR 6 and Mumbai 3. The week also saw 3 fund launches — Naveli Ventures, NABVENTURES' Rs 450 crore first close and Recur Club's Rs 500 crore D2C fund — and 2 acquisitions: Marico's Rs 1,012.03 crore additional 24.09% stake in Plix parent Satiya Nutraceuticals, and Hoola Health's acquisition of UpTodd.

Why it matters for founders

A slow funding week is not a dead market — seed rounds still accounted for nearly half the deal count. When mega-rounds pause, early-stage cheques keep moving: if you're raising under $3 million, this is still a workable week to be in market.
