Indian startups raised $310.72 million across 36 deals in the week of October 6–11 — a 50% jump from the $206.89 million raised the previous week, as growth-stage cheques roared back.

The big cheques

Raise Financial Services, parent of stockbroking platform Dhan, led the pack with a $120 million round led by Hornbill Capital that turned it into a unicorn. Intangles raised $30 million in a Series B led by Avataar Venture Partners, while Singapore-based Qapita secured $26.5 million from Charles Schwab Corporation. Growth and late-stage funding totalled $219.2 million across five deals.

Early stage: breadth over size

On the early-stage front, 27 startups raised around $91.5 million, led by blockchain startup KGeN's $13.5 million round from Prosus, Accel and Jump Crypto. Seed rounds led on volume with 14 deals. Bengaluru topped the city charts with 18 deals, followed by Delhi-NCR with 10; AI and e-commerce led segments with five deals each.

Beyond funding

Groww acquired Fisdom after SEBI approval, fintech Niro shut down after raising $20 million, Prosus moved to take 10.1% of ixigo for ₹1,296 crore, and InsuranceDekho launched a $2 million ESOP buyback for 150 employees.

Why it matters for founders

The eight-week average now sits at $275.11 million across 25 deals per week — the recovery is broadening from mega-rounds into genuine breadth.
