Bengaluru and Kochi-based manufacturing startup Venttup has raised $3 million in a pre-Series A round co-led by Rainmatter by Zerodha and Unicorn India Ventures, the company announced on 29 October 2026. It is a notable bet on India’s precision-manufacturing story in startup funding in India, where capital is flowing to companies that can localise critical components.

From engineering services to scalable production

Founded in 2022 by Sandeep Nair, M. Wasim Ankli and Joseph Panakkal and incubated at Kerala Startup Mission, Venttup runs a Manufacturing-as-a-Service model combining in-house engineering with a network of MSME partners. It covers engineering design, specification standardisation, rapid prototyping, testing, validation and contract manufacturing across energy transition, data centres, mobility, defence, aerospace and space. Since its seed round in 2024 — also from Unicorn India Ventures — revenue has grown fivefold to ₹10 crore in FY2025-26, with an order pipeline of about ₹30 crore and more than 15 blue-chip clients added in the past year.

What the money will build

The funds will expand the engineering team, set up a precision manufacturing facility in Bengaluru for machining, turning and sheet-metal work, and add AI tools for B2B sourcing and supplier intelligence. Founder Sandeep Nair said India’s next phase of manufacturing growth needs engineering capability that turns complex requirements into validated, production-ready components.

Why it matters for founders

For manufacturing founders, Venttup’s round shows what investors now reward: a real order pipeline, blue-chip customers and a path from validation to production — not just a workshop and a pitch deck.
