Actor Varun Dhawan has invested in Better Nutrition and joined the brand as its ambassador alongside PV Sindhu, the company announced on 8 October 2026. Dhawan's own farm will be developed as a biofortified farm in collaboration with the company.
Better Nutrition — co-founded by CEO Prateek Rastogi and Aishwarya Bhatnagar — is India's biofortified staples brand, selling atta, dal, rice and millets with up to 2x iron and zinc. The brand featured on Shark Tank India Season 4. It uses biofortified seeds, soil science and X-ray fluorescence (XRF) testing to validate nutrient levels in a seed-to-shelf model, selling via its website and quick-commerce platforms.
Celebrity capital is becoming a serious D2C growth lever in India — and when the celebrity also puts personal assets (like a farm) behind the brand, it's a deeper commitment than a standard endorsement deal.
Why it matters for founders
The new celebrity-investment playbook: equity plus operational skin in the game. Better Nutrition got both a cheque and a farm. If you pitch celebrity investors, bring an activation idea that's bigger than a photoshoot — that's what converts ambassadors into owners.
