UnLtd India is a Mumbai-based launchpad and incubator for social entrepreneurs — it finds, funds and supports exceptional people solving pressing socio-economic problems. Its theory of change is simple: social entrepreneurs sustain and scale when they get an enabling ecosystem in their earliest stages. Financial support for the current cohorts is not publicly disclosed as a fund figure; the February 2027 cohort provides no financial support and works on a refundable-deposit model — the value is the programme, not a cheque.
That programme is a 9-month incubation offering one-on-one coaching, workshops, mentors, investor access and peer learning, delivered hybrid (online plus in-person workshops and site visits). It targets the Test, Build and Grow stages — prototyping, MVP and pilot — and for the February 2027 cohort, the organisation must be registered on or after 1 January 2022. The focus sectors for that cohort: Agri & Allied, Education, Environment, Gender Equality, Health & Wellbeing, Inclusive Development, and Skilling & Livelihood.
The alumni bench is deep: Milaap.org, Avanti Fellows, Under The Mango Tree (Vijaya Pastala), Mirakle Couriers (Dhruv Lakra), Toybank, Masoom (Nikita Ketkar), Oscar (Ashok Rathod) and Blind with Camera (Partho Bhowmick). An older impact study cited by The Better India found that for each Re 1 provided, investees raised or earned Rs 4.15 on average, creating 4.2 new jobs per investee. The organisation was co-founded by Pooja Warier and Richard Alderson.
Timing matters: applications for the February 2027 cohort run from 18 September to 8 November 2026 — a live window for social founders reading this now.
The programme's hybrid delivery — online plus in-person workshops and site visits — reflects a practical understanding that social entrepreneurs can't abandon the field for a classroom. The historic Bombay HUB collaborative workspace gave cohorts a physical home in Mumbai's social-impact cluster. And the economics cited in coverage are worth internalising: Re 1 of support converting to Rs 4.15 raised or earned, with 4.2 new jobs per investee on average — leverage ratios that explain why early-stage incubation, done well, outperforms late-stage grant-making. Co-founders Pooja Warier and Richard Alderson built the organisation on the premise that exceptional individuals, backed early, compound into institutions — a bet the alumni list, from Milaap.org to Avanti Fellows, has largely validated.
