TIH Foundation for IoT and IoE — the DST-funded Technology Innovation Hub at IIT Bombay, a Section 8 not-for-profit company — is inviting proposals under its TDP Call for Proposal 2026. Selected projects receive a project grant of up to Rs 25 lakh for a duration of up to 12 months, designed to support the development and deployment of application-oriented IoT technologies.

The funding is equity-free and non-repayable. Beyond the money, grantees get commercialisation support to navigate the market, and joint ownership of the intellectual property generated from the project — TIH-IoT and the grantee share in the protection and benefits of new innovations. Applications are open to Scheduled Tribe faculty, researchers, and full-time employees of DPIIT-registered startups working on technologies at TRL 4+ for ST communities — with focus areas including AgriTech, water, MedTech, industrial IoT and supply chain.

The headline number founders should circle: applications close on 20 October 2026, leaving just days to put a proposal together. A sibling call (TDP Call for Proposal 2026-11) offers up to Rs 50 lakh with a 31 October 2026 deadline, so teams missing this window have one more shot.

Why it matters for founders

Rs 25 lakh of non-dilutive capital plus a joint-IP framework and IIT Bombay commercialisation muscle is a rare combination. If you are an IoT-first founder — especially building for agriculture, water or rural health — this is worth an application before October 20.
