Pet nutrition startup TailBlaze Longevity has secured $300,000 in a pre-seed funding round led by US-based venture capital firm Comma Capital. The company was also recently featured on Bharat Ke Superfounders, further highlighting its presence in India's growing pet care ecosystem.
Founded in August 2025 by Manaal Maniyar and Palak Devpura, the Ahmedabad-based startup focuses on canine nutrition and longevity. Its mission: help dogs live three to five years longer through nutrition plans centred on higher protein and lower carbohydrate formulations. The new capital will be deployed to launch HeartPour, strengthen its team in Ahmedabad, and broaden its reach among pet parents across the country. Ahead of the product's commercial rollout, TailBlaze plans to offer complimentary servings of HeartPour to the first 500 dogs.
HeartPour, the new wet dog food range, is the result of four years of research and development. The product combines high-protein ingredients and superfoods with an Ayurvedic PanchTatva blend consisting of curcumin, black pepper, parsley, amla, and tulsi. In addition, TailBlaze has developed FreshTail, a proprietary technology designed to produce shelf-stable fresh meals. Its portfolio currently includes more than 200 products, spanning organic dog food, natural treats, grooming products, and pet accessories.
The startup operates through a WhatsApp-first commerce model while also selling via quick commerce platforms and online marketplaces, including Blinkit and BBNow. The funding comes amid rising investor interest in India's pet nutrition sector, where startups are focusing on science-backed and functional nutrition products to address pet health and longevity.
Why it matters for founders
TailBlaze's pre-seed shows a classic founder playbook working: four years of R&D before the product launch, a sharply defined longevity mission, and a WhatsApp-first distribution model that meets Indian pet parents where they already are. Comma Capital's bet signals that cross-border micro-VCs are watching India's pet care wave closely.
