The StartupTN Technology Transfer Center has opened a call under Startup Incentives for Technology Acquisition, with ₹50 lakh allocated to help Tamil Nadu startups license technology from recognised institutions — and the last date to apply is 15 November 2026.
Eligibility
Applicants must be DPIIT-recognised startups registered in Tamil Nadu, holding a formal technology licensing agreement with a recognised academic or research institution, plus a validated proof of concept or prototype with a deployment plan. The support covers 50% of the licence cost, up to ₹5 lakh per startup — whichever is lower.
How to apply
Apply through the official form at form.startuptn.in/TNTTC before November 15, 2026; queries go to [email protected]. The terms are as announced by StartupTN — always confirm the latest guidelines on the official application form before you apply.
Why it fits
For a young company, a technology licence fee is a big cheque to write before revenue exists. This incentive halves that entry cost — most effective for licences between ₹6–10 lakh, where the 50% share is fully covered up to the ₹5 lakh cap. With IIT-Madras-linked deeptech momentum in the state, licensed university IP is becoming a real founder strategy, not an academic footnote.
Why it matters for founders
If you are a Tamil Nadu founder sitting on a university licence or a prototype built on institutional IP, this is cheap money with a real deadline: November 15. Get the licensing agreement and deployment plan in order first — eligibility is binary, not competitive.
