Startup funding in India closed the week ended 23 October 2026 at $245.9 million across 22 rounds, according to ETtech's Deals Digest using Tracxn data. That is 6.2% higher than the previous week, though still 26.7% below the same period a year earlier — a week of steady, selective capital rather than a boom.
The week's biggest rounds
Even Healthcare led the week with its $50 million Series B, led by existing investor Khosla Ventures with Alpha Wave participating, to expand its Bengaluru hospital network. Different followed with a $48 million seed round, and AuxoAI raised $20.7 million.
Manufacturing and clean energy also featured. Surat-based solar module maker Navitas Solar secured growth capital of up to $20 million from Swiss impact asset manager responsAbility, backing a planned 2.2 GW solar cell facility. Green hydrogen platform Greenzo Energy raised ₹130 crore led by Ashish Kacholia and associates, valuing it at around ₹1,030 crore post-money. ETtech's digest also lists Battery Smart at $10 million among the week's deals.
Where the money went
Early-stage companies took most of the capital: 70.8% of the week's money went to early-stage deals, 25.2% to seed-stage rounds, and just 4.1% to late-stage businesses. General Catalyst was among the week's most active investors, backing both Different and Baba, while Blume Ventures backed Hunar.AI and Harajuku, and Seedstars participated in Hunar.AI and Karta.
Why this tally is higher than Inc42's $184 million
Readers who saw our earlier roundup for the same week may notice a different total: Inc42 counted 17 deals worth over $184 million, while Tracxn counts 22 rounds worth $245.9 million. The two trackers apply different filters, and the digest's top-deal list also includes US-based Baba's $40 million Series A. Neither number is wrong — they measure different universes — but founders comparing weeks should stick to one tracker for trend lines.
Why it matters for founders
Early-stage capital is still moving — over 95% of this week's money went to early-stage and seed deals — but it is concentrating in fewer, larger rounds in AI, healthcare and manufacturing. If you are raising now, a clear path to revenue and a credible use of funds matter more than a big market story.
