Coliving startup Stanza Living has acquired enterprise IoT startup Singularity Automation in an all-cash deal — a startup-buying-startup move to build IoT-based solutions for the managed accommodation sector.
The deal was announced on October 13, 2026. Post-acquisition, Stanza Living will have a 100+ member technology team, with the founders and core team of Singularity Automation joining Stanza. The goal is to strengthen Stanza's proprietary technology ecosystem and scale highly customised IoT-based solutions for managed accommodation.
The acquisition comes just a week after Stanza raised $57 million (Rs 425 crore) in debt funding led by Kotak Mahindra Bank and RBL Bank with Alteria Capital. To date, the coliving startup has raised close to $220 million in debt and equity combined.
Founded in 2017 by Sandeep Dalmia and Anindya Dutta, Stanza Living offers rental solutions for students and working professionals and claims an inventory of more than 75,000 beds across 23 cities in India. It is backed by Alpha Wave Incubation, Equity International, Falcon Edge Capital, Sequoia India, Matrix, Accel Partners, Kotak Mahindra Bank, RBL Bank and Alteria Capital.
Why it matters for founders
Stanza is putting its fresh $57 million debt raise straight to work — acquiring tech capability instead of only building it. For B2B IoT and proptech founders, this is a live example of how a well-funded operator becomes an acquirer: build a genuinely useful stack, and the scaling platforms come knocking.
