Friday's SME IPO debuts delivered a mixed bag. Three SME IPOs — Acme India Industries, TNA Solutions and Paramount Syntex — listed on the BSE SME platform on October 9, 2026, together raising around ₹241 crore.

Acme India Industries delivered the strongest debut, opening at ₹221 per share — a 12.7% premium over its issue price of ₹196. The ₹121.69 crore IPO had been subscribed 115.51 times, and the company closed the day with a market capitalisation of around ₹518.74 crore. The listing came slightly below grey-market expectations of a ~22% premium.

Paramount Syntex went the other way, listing at ₹115 — a 9.4% discount to its IPO price of ₹127. The entirely fresh-issue ₹81.79 crore IPO had been subscribed only 1.88 times, with the NII category barely filled at 0.09 times.

TNA Solutions had the roughest start, debuting at ₹56 — a 20% discount to its ₹70 issue price — and quickly hitting the 5% lower circuit at ₹53.20, nearly 24% below the IPO price, despite the issue being subscribed 55.2 times. Its market capitalisation stood at around ₹108.57 crore after the fall.

The contrast is a reminder that heavy subscription demand does not guarantee listing gains — TNA's 55x subscription still produced a 20% discount on debut.

Why it matters for founders

The SME IPO window is wide open — but selective. Acme's premium and TNA's lower circuit on the same day show investors are discriminating hard between quality businesses and momentum bids. If you're IPO-bound, fundamentals and realistic pricing matter more than subscription headlines.
