Startup funding in India keeps flowing into the infrastructure behind artificial intelligence. Bengaluru-based AI inference startup Simplismart has raised $14 million in a Series B funding round led by Dallas Venture Capital, with participation from NVIDIA, Accel, Shastra VC and Micromax. The round was announced on 27 October 2026.

What Simplismart builds

Founded in June 2022 by Amritanshu Jain and Devansh Ghatak, Simplismart builds the software layer between AI models and GPU infrastructure. Its modular inference engine lets businesses configure models for speed, cost and performance, while its orchestration platform manages deployment and scaling across cloud and on-premises infrastructure. The company previously raised $7 million in a Series A round in October 2024, led by Accel.

Where the $14 million goes

The fresh capital will further develop the AI inference platform, expand partnerships with cloud providers and sovereign AI initiatives, and strengthen Simplismart's presence in North America and other global markets. The company said its annualised revenue run rate has grown 14-fold over the past six months, reaching an eight-figure run rate. Its customers include HeyGen, Higgsfield, InVideo, Shiprocket, Apna and Ema, which run production workloads across video, voice, multimodal and enterprise AI applications. Jain said the company has spent four years building the software layer between the model and the GPU, helping customers optimise how workloads are deployed and operated.

Why it matters for founders

As enterprises move from experimenting with AI to running it in production, the cost and reliability of inference becomes a buying decision, not a technical detail. Simplismart's round shows investors are backing the picks-and-shovels layer of AI in India, and that a Bengaluru team can win global enterprise customers without owning any GPU infrastructure itself.
