Venture capital has a gender problem, and She Capital exists to fix it. Founded in 2018 by Anisha Singh — the founder and former CEO of deals platform Mydala — She Capital is an early-stage venture fund focused on businesses that are led by women entrepreneurs or building for women. One of India's most active diversity funds, it is led by Singh as Founder and Arjun Basu as Managing Partner.
The thesis: women founders, high-growth consumer tech
She Capital backs high-growth businesses addressing large market opportunities in the consumer technology space, with a sweet spot at pre-Series A and Series A. For its initial fund, the firm planned to write average tickets of INR 3 crore to INR 5 crore across 12 to 14 women-led early-stage businesses. Today, the fund reports having backed 14 women-led companies — and 62 per cent of the employees across its portfolio companies are women, a statistic the firm wears as a badge of honour.
A portfolio you will recognise
The portfolio is a tour of new-age Indian consumer brands: Clovia (lingerie), Samosa Singh (food tech), Ellementry (handmade home and lifestyle), The Baker's Dozen (artisan bakery), Hair Originals, Amama (designer jewellery), Yuva Kabaddi, Nova Nova, Yatrikart, ReDesyn, Brain Sight AI, Trezi, Spark Studio and Instruo. The common thread is consumer-facing ambition: brands building categories, not just companies.
More than capital: a 10,000-strong community
What sets She Capital apart is its deliberate community machinery. In 2022, the fund launched Together — a flagship gathering and ongoing space where women founders, in the firm's words, do not just build, they back each other fiercely. The community now counts more than 10,000 founders, which the firm describes as one of India's most powerful founder networks. For portfolio companies, this means warm access to peers, mentors and operators who have walked the same road.
Ecosystem partners at the ready
She Capital's partner bench reads like a startup toolkit: Gupshup, Onsurity, AWS, HT Media Group, Simpl, Kotak Private, Amazon, the Cartier Women's Initiative, Delhivery, Huber Group, Google and law firm Shardul Amarchand Mangaldas. That breadth — cloud credits to logistics to legal masterclasses on term sheets — is the practical layer of support women founders get alongside the cheque. The fund's total corpus is not publicly disclosed.
Why it matters for founders
If you are a woman founder building a consumer tech business in India, She Capital is purpose-built for you: INR 3–5 crore tickets at pre-Series A and Series A, a portfolio of category-defining brands to learn from, and a 10,000-strong founder community plus heavyweight ecosystem partners behind the money. Pitch them when you have early traction and a clear vision for a large market — and lean on the community well before you need the cheque.
