Seraphim Space is the world's leading specialist investor in SpaceTech — a UK-headquartered investment group, founded in 2016, that helped define space as a standalone venture category. With offices in the United States and Germany alongside its London base, the firm now manages more than $550 million across its private and public funds, following the latest closing of its early-stage SpaceTech venture fund, which exceeded its $100 million target in early 2026.

Thesis and focus

Seraphim invests in startups commercialising and accelerating space technology — from launch and satellite infrastructure to the AI-powered services built on top of space data. Its current fund focuses on Seed and Series A investments in transformational businesses where SpaceTech converges with artificial intelligence. The themes run across defence and national security, climate adaptation, life sciences and digital infrastructure. Alongside the private funds, the group manages the London Stock Exchange-listed Seraphim Space Investment Trust, giving public investors exposure to a concentrated portfolio of leading space companies.

Fund and stage

The latest early-stage fund closed above its $100 million target with backing from an unusually strategic LP roster: the British Business Bank and the National Security Strategic Investment Fund alongside corporates including Arabsat, Eutelsat, NEC and SKY Perfect JSAT. CEO Mark Boggett says corporate interest has broadened far beyond traditional aerospace, now spanning defence, infrastructure, climate and life sciences. The fund has already deployed into 17 companies across allied nations in the US and Europe. Over the past decade, Seraphim says it has supported 149 companies across 33 countries, whose portfolio firms have collectively raised more than £10 billion, producing nine unicorns, five IPOs and one trade sale. The firm's preceding SpaceTech-focused vehicle is reported to have delivered top-decile global performance.

Portfolio highlights

The portfolio is led by names like ICEYE, the Finnish SAR satellite constellation and the trust's top contributor — recently valued at around €2.4 billion; Hubble Network, which reached unicorn status with a $200 million Series C; Pixxel, which closed a $100 million Series C co-led by Temasek and Seraphim, taking total funding to $195 million; and Xona, building a LEO positioning and timing network. In defence: Auriga, Atmos Space Cargo, General Galactic and Privateer. In climate: Delos, Adaptive Insurance and Renoster. In life sciences: LambdaVision, using microgravity to advance human health.

People and programs

Seraphim is led by CEO Mark Boggett. Its long-running accelerator has been a major deal-flow engine, with Seraphim saying more than 100 SpaceTech companies have passed through it. The firm also runs a Global Space Futures Advisory Council that brings in senior military space leaders — including Lt Gen P.J.S. Pannu and Maj Gen Paul Tedman — reflecting how central defence and sovereign space have become to its thesis. Founders get deep technical diligence, structured corporate engagement, and access to a global network of industry, government and strategic LP partners.

Why it matters for founders

If you are building in or around space — satellites, launch, Earth observation, in-orbit services, or AI applications powered by space data — Seraphim is the specialist first call. Its unmatched sector network, sovereign and defence relationships, and dedicated seed-to-Series-A vehicles make it the one fund built entirely around this category, including for Indian founders eyeing the global space supply chain.
