Luxury watch brand Rotoris has raised $8.5 million in a Series A funding round led by Blume Ventures. The deal is a rare startup funding in India story in luxury manufacturing, and it backs an ambitious goal: building an Indian watch brand that can sell credibly in global luxury markets.
Who founded Rotoris
Rotoris was founded in 2025 by Aakash Anand, the founder of beauty brand Bella Vita, Prerna Gupta of Wolfpack Labs, and Anant Narula and Kunal Kapania, co-founders of Drink Free Advertising Media. The round also saw participation from 100Unicorns, Centricity, several family offices and actor Rannvijay Singha.
The brand sells limited-edition watches through an invitation-only membership programme called the Rotoris Registry. Its first collection of 2,100 numbered watches, launched in February 2026, sold out within days, according to the company.
Where the capital goes
Rotoris said it will deploy the fresh capital towards research and development, expanding production capacity and growing its Rotoris House retail footprint in India and overseas, including Mumbai and New York. Watches are assembled and tested at its Rotoris Atelier in Gurugram, using machinery sourced from Switzerland and guidance from Swiss horologists with experience at luxury watchmakers.
The company says it has received registrations from nearly 100,000 prospective customers, with around 40% of demand coming from markets outside India, including the United States, Dubai and Australia. Its portfolio includes Manifesta, featuring natural-stone dials, and Astonia, a chronograph collection using Swiss movements.
Luxury is a patience game: scarcity, craft and service matter as much as the product itself. Rotoris is betting that an Indian brand can command that patience if the engineering and the story are both built to the same standard.
Why it matters for founders
Scarcity only works when the product earns it. If you are building a premium brand, invest in the unglamorous craft — assembly, testing and after-sales — before you scale the marketing around it.
