Rajasthan’s startup policy is offering seed-stage founders some of the largest state grants in the country — a Viability Grant of up to ₹60 lakh for seed startups, a Scale-up Fund of up to ₹2 crore for growth-stage startups, and an equity match of up to ₹5 crore. StartupFeed confirmed on October 17, 2026 that the Rajasthan Startup Policy 2022 remains the state’s live startup policy for government schemes for startups.
Eligibility
Any startup registered under iStart Rajasthan can apply. The startup must be under 10 years old from incorporation, with yearly turnover below ₹100 crore. It must be registered in Rajasthan, or keep a branch or sales office in the state. The business must be new — not created by splitting an old company — and work on a fresh product, process or service with room to grow and create jobs, in line with the national DPIIT definition of a startup.
The grant you get depends on your stage and your QRate rating, the state’s startup score across five levels: Bronze, Silver, Gold, Platinum and Signature. A seed startup gets the Viability Grant: up to ₹10 lakh with no QRate rating (after a committee check), rising through ₹20–40 lakh slabs for Bronze scores, to ₹60 lakh for Silver and above. A growth startup gets the Scale-up Fund instead: ₹1 crore for Bronze, ₹1.5 crore for Silver, ₹2 crore for Gold and above — paying up to half of the money you raise as convertible debt or equity. Or you can take the Startup Equity Fund, where the state matches your raise up to ₹5 crore.
Boosters stack on top: a 10–20% Performance or Employment Booster, a 10% Product or Thrust Booster (priority sectors include agriculture, health, fintech and clean energy), and a 10% booster for startups led by women, transgender, specially-abled, SC/ST or rural founders. A pre-seed startup can also claim an Ideation Grant of ₹2.4 lakh (₹3 lakh if women-led). Beyond grants, the policy gives a 75% subsidy on state taxes for seven years, full exemption from electricity duty, mandi fee and land tax for seven years, patent cost refunds of up to 75% (up to ₹5 lakh), and government work orders of up to ₹15 lakh with no tender.
How to apply
First, register your startup on iStart Rajasthan through the SSO Rajasthan login (istart.rajasthan.gov.in). Then get a QRate rating to set your grant slab. Pick your stage — pre-seed, seed or growth — and apply for the matching grant; the DoIT&C committee checks each case before paying out. The policy runs for five years from its November 2022 launch, so the window stays open into late 2027 — but note the linked RIPS 2022 tax benefits end on March 31, 2027.
Why it matters for founders
The slabs do the real work here: a no-QRate startup gets ₹10 lakh while a Silver-rated seed startup gets ₹60 lakh — six times more. Founders in Rajasthan should get QRate-rated early, then apply. And if you are outside Rajasthan, check whether your state’s policy has a similar staged-grant structure — many do, and most founders never apply.
