AI-native cybersecurity firm Protectt.ai Labs Pvt Ltd has taken a majority stake in AIShield, an AI security platform incubated within Bosch Global Software Technologies (BGSW). The deal, announced on 28 October 2026 and reported on 29 October, is a significant consolidation in startup funding in India for AI security.
Protectt.ai invested through a primary issuance of shares and a secondary purchase from existing investors, becoming the majority shareholder; Bosch will keep a minority stake. Financial terms were not disclosed. AIShield will operate as an independent company, AI Shield Private Limited, under Protectt.ai.
AIShield addresses AI-specific cyber risks, including prompt injection and AI application vulnerabilities, combining AI security assessment and red teaming with runtime protection and safety guardrails. It holds more than 40 patent filings, including 11 granted patents, and serves clients across Europe and the Middle East.
Founded by Manish Mimani and Mohanraj Selvaraj, Protectt.ai provides mobile application security to banks, NBFCs, insurers, fintech companies and government platforms in India. The deal links that mobile security business with AI security, and the new capital will support AIShield's research and development, global scale-up and development of sovereign AI security capabilities.
The transaction reflects a shift in enterprise security budgets: as AI moves into critical business processes, securing the AI itself — not just the network around it — is becoming a board-level purchase.
Why it matters for founders
Security follows the workload. As enterprises put AI into regulated processes, the security product must move with it — from networks and apps to models, prompts and agents. Founders building in AI security should sell to that shift, not to last year's threat model.
