Startup funding in India increasingly flows through platforms that make new asset classes accessible — and bonds are next. PB Money, an investment platform with a strategic partnership with Paisabazaar, has received a Securities and Exchange Board of India (SEBI) licence as an Online Bond Platform Provider (OBPP), news reported on 27-28 October 2026.
What the licence unlocks
The licence enables PB Money to manage the entire bond investment journey: investor onboarding and KYC, bond discovery and evaluation, order placement, payment coordination and post-investment servicing. Investors can compare bonds on parameters such as yield, credit rating and investment amount.
PB Money operates under PB Marketing and Consulting Private Limited, a wholly owned subsidiary of PB Fintech Limited, and is registered with SEBI as an OBPP (Registration No. INZ000333532; NSE Member Code 90494). Through its partnership with Paisabazaar, consumers can discover bond offerings on Paisabazaar's platform and complete their investment journey seamlessly through PB Money.
Why bonds, why now
Bonds remain an underexplored investment avenue for many Indian retail investors, despite their potential to provide regular interest income and support portfolio diversification. Santosh Agarwal, Director of PB Money and CEO of Paisabazaar, said the licence is an important step in enabling a seamless experience across the bond investment journey and in making a wider range of investment products more accessible as consumer financial needs evolve.
For fintech founders, the lesson is regulatory: a licence that lets you own the whole customer journey — from discovery to servicing — is a genuine moat, and it is built through compliance work long before it shows up in growth numbers.
Why it matters for founders
In fintech, distribution gets you users but licences get you trust. PB Money's OBPP licence shows founders that owning the full regulated journey — onboarding, KYC, execution and servicing — is what turns a comparison site into a real investment platform.
