The firm

Partech is a global technology investment firm headquartered in Paris, with offices in Berlin, Dakar, Dubai, Lagos, Nairobi and San Francisco. It was founded in 1982 in Silicon Valley by a group of European pioneers, and has grown into one of Europe's largest independent tech investors — reporting around €2.7B in assets under management and a current portfolio of 220 companies across 40 countries on four continents.

The firm backs entrepreneurs from seed through to growth stage, blending capital with hands-on operational support. Its portfolio companies have completed more than 21 IPOs and more than 50 strategic M&A transactions valued above $100M, and since the end of 2021 it has realised 11 exits at a multiple of at least 3x invested capital — five of them above 5x.

Thesis and sweet spot

Partech runs dedicated strategies per stage rather than one generalist pool:

Partech Seed backs founders from day one, writing initial cheques of €300k to €3M as a lead or syndicate investor, across Europe and beyond. The fund is anchored by 100 entrepreneur-investors, 35 of whom were themselves backed by Partech — an unusually founder-dense capital base.

Partech Venture is the Series A and B engine. The current fund, Partech Venture, closed at €360M in December 2023 as the successor to Partech International Ventures VII. It writes initial cheques of €5M to €12M in European companies with €1M to €10M in annual recurring revenue, focused on application software, deep tech (data & AI infrastructure, cybersecurity, DevOps), B2B vertical platforms, and fintech & insurtech.

Partech Africa has backed the continent's tech champions since 2017, investing from seed to Series C with initial tickets of €1M to €15M. The successor, Partech Africa II, closed in February 2024 at its €280M hard cap, backed by development finance institutions including KfW, the EIB, the IFC and Bpifrance.

Partech Impact is an Article 9 fund under SFDR scaling European impact-native technology leaders, writing initial cheques of €12M to €25M. Note: the former growth strategy, which backed scale-ups from 2015 with cheques up to €100M, spun out in 2026 as the independent firm Aletheon Investments.

Notable portfolio

The venture strategy has backed European category leaders including ManoMano (the DIY marketplace), ABTasty, Agicap, Fresha, Odaseva, Papernest, Platform.sh, Bitrise and Shippeo, alongside standout exits such as Compte Nickel and Kantox (both acquired by BNP Paribas), Guardicore (acquired by Akamai) and Medigate (acquired by Claroty).

There is no public accelerator or published perks catalogue; the platform is operator-led — several partners are former founders and the teams support portfolio companies across product, hiring, M&A and US expansion.

People

The venture strategy is led by Philippe Collombel, a founding and General Partner who has backed Agicap, Fresha, Kantox and ManoMano, alongside General Partner Reza Malekzadeh (ABTasty, Akeneo, Platform.sh) and General Partner Jean Sini (Medigate, Memfault; previously an early backer of Canva and Fieldwire). The Africa strategy is led by General Partners Cyril Collon and Tidjane Dème from Dakar, with teams also on the ground in Lagos and Nairobi.

Why it matters for founders

If you are building mission-critical software in Europe with early traction (€1M+ ARR), Partech Venture is one of the few Series A/B leads with genuine US-expansion muscle — apply via their site and expect a technically rigorous, operator-led diligence process. Pre-seed founders anywhere can target Partech Seed's €300k–€3M cheques, while African founders raising seed to Series C should know Partech Africa II (€280M, now deploying) is among the continent's deepest pockets.
