Startup funding in India headlines this week are dominated by the mainboard IPO wave, and healthcare is firmly in the mix: Paras Healthcare has fixed the price band for its ₹1,450 crore IPO at ₹660 to ₹693 per share. The issue opens on Wednesday, October 21, 2026 and closes on October 23, 2026.

The offer comprises a ₹500 crore fresh issue — earmarked for prepayment of borrowings, investment in its wholly owned subsidiary Plus Medicare Hospitals Pvt Ltd (which operates its Srinagar hospital), and general corporate purposes — plus a ₹950 crore offer for sale by promoter Dharminder Kumar Nagar and investor Commelina Ltd. Bids start at a lot size of 21 shares; anchor investor bidding opens October 19, with listing expected around October 28.

Eight hospitals, six states

Paras Healthcare operates 8 hospitals under the Paras Health brand across Haryana, Bihar, Uttar Pradesh, Rajasthan, Jharkhand and Jammu & Kashmir. The book running lead managers to the issue are JM Financial, BofA Securities India and Nuvama, and the shares will list on both the BSE and NSE.

The IPO continues a packed October mainboard calendar — Zetwerk, Tonbo, Bonfiglioli, Sahajanand and Fusion CX are all in play — with healthcare listings remaining a strong institutional theme given India's structural hospital-capacity deficit.

Why it matters for founders

A ₹1,450 crore hospital IPO with a ₹660–693 band shows public-market appetite for regional healthcare chains at scale. For healthtech and hospital founders, the message is consistent: multi-state footprints, owned infrastructure and a clear debt-reduction use of proceeds are what institutional books want to see.
