Bengaluru-based lab-grown diamond jewellery brand ONYA has raised ₹12.5 crore in a pre-Series A funding round led by Divisa Family Office, with existing investor Zeropearl VC increasing its commitment after leading the company's earlier ₹5.5 crore pre-seed round in November 2025.

Founded in 2024 by Gaurav Choudhary and Himani Yadav, ONYA is building a design-led jewellery brand around technology-created diamonds. The company offers IGI-certified lab-grown diamonds set in BIS-hallmarked gold — positioning itself as a genuine alternative to natural diamonds at approximately 20% of the cost, complete with a lifetime exchange and buyback programme.

Design is ONYA's moat. The brand has developed a proprietary ONYA Setting — a patented ring-setting design engineered to optimise light reflection and brilliance — alongside its flagship ONYA Signature Collection, which draws inspiration from Neoclassical architecture.

The traction is striking for a brand barely two years old: eight flagship stores across Bengaluru, Pune's Amanora Gold Souk Mall and Hyderabad's Jubilee Hills, ₹3.5 crore in monthly revenue within around 20 months of inception, and a team that has grown from 18 to 63 employees. The cap table reads like a who's-who of Indian startup operators — angel investors from the seed stage include MyGate founders Vijay Arishetty, Abhishek Kumar, Shreyans Daga and Rohit Jindal, plus UrbanVault founder Amal Mishra.

The new capital will fund retail expansion in Pune and Hyderabad through a mix of company-owned and franchise stores, digital customer acquisition, online personalisation, and R&D in design and manufacturing.

Why it matters for founders

ONYA shows how to premiumise a commoditising category: patented design, certified trust signals, and an omnichannel retail playbook executed at speed. If you're in D2C, note the operator-angels — founders who've scaled before can open doors no amount of ad spend can buy.
