Blockchain startup KGeN has raised $13.5 million from Prosus, Accel and Jump Crypto, topping the early-stage funding charts for the week of October 6–11.

Crypto capital returns to India-adjacent bets

The round is notable for the calibre of the syndicate: Prosus and Accel are two of the most influential tech investors operating in India, while Jump Crypto is among the world's most active crypto-native funds. Their combined $13.5 million bet suggests blockchain infrastructure is back in favour after a long funding chill.

Early-stage funding totalled $91.5 million across 27 startups this week, with KGeN leading ahead of electronics design firm Ekkaa Electronics, cybersecurity startup Pantherun Technologies, voice AI platform GreyLabs AI and FMCG brand Meolaa.

Seed still leads on volume

Series-wise, seed rounds led activity with 14 deals, followed by Series A and pre-seed with six apiece. The average funding over the last eight weeks stands at around $275.11 million with 25 deals per week — a steady, if selective, recovery.
