Fund management platform Aavishkaar Group has launched OneAavishkaar to support emerging venture funds, and partnered with Jamwant Ventures to launch a ₹500 crore defence and deeptech-focused fund.

Two launches, one thesis

OneAavishkaar is designed as a platform to back emerging fund managers — a fund-of-funds play that could unlock a new generation of specialist Indian VCs. Alongside it, the ₹500 crore defence and deeptech fund with Jamwant Ventures targets one of the most capital-hungry sectors in the ecosystem.

The defence-tech tailwind is real: spacetech startup Kepler Aerospace holds two iDEX prime contracts for swarming ISR constellations, the government is funnelling ₹130 crore into indigenous AI chips via the RDI Fund, and Andhra Pradesh has announced a ₹500 crore Quantum Valley deeptech fund.

Capital is specialising

The Aavishkaar–Jamwant launches follow Theia Ventures' first $15 million close of its $30 million deeptech Fund I and WEH Ventures' ₹250 crore Fund III first close — a clear trend of LPs backing sharp, sector-focused theses over generalist spray-and-pray.

Why it matters for founders

Defence and deeptech founders: a ₹500 crore specialist fund just opened its doors, and it understands procurement cycles and iDEX grants. If you have dual-use technology, this is your capital.
