SeedRocket is Spain's first accelerator for early stage technology startups, founded in 2008 and based in Barcelona and Madrid. It is a non-profit association, which shapes how it works: its programmes are equity free, its mentors and business angels invest privately if they like a startup, and its purpose is to strengthen the Spanish technology ecosystem. For founders at idea, pre-seed or early seed stage, it is one of the most established front doors into the Spanish startup world, combining intensive training, curated mentorship and direct access to investors.

Investment thesis

SeedRocket's thesis is that early stage founders fail less often with structured training, honest feedback from people who have built companies, and investor access at the right moment. Rather than running a single fund, it works as an ecosystem builder: it trains founders, trains business angels, runs events connecting the two groups, and supports companies through its investment club and its close relationship with 4Founders Capital. It says it has analysed more than 6,000 technology startups and helped more than 500 startups raise capital through its programmes or its investment club, figures reflecting its scale as a community rather than as a single fund.

Sectors and stages

SeedRocket works with early stage technology projects that have a working first version of the product, some traction and a plan to raise from business angels. Its flagship entry point is the Campus de Emprendedores, a three day intensive programme in which 10 to 12 selected startups receive training, workshops and one-to-one mentor sessions, ending in a presentation to investors. It also runs Venture on the Road, a roadshow visiting six or seven Spanish cities each year alongside BStartup, Wayra and ENISA to find promising pre-seed projects. Its Campus para Business Angels has trained more than 600 investors in filtering opportunities, reading metrics and building a startup portfolio.

Notable portfolio / track record

SeedRocket's alumni include Marfeel and Kantox, two of the better known names to come through its programmes, and its wider community spans software, PropTech, fintech, CleanTech, gaming and advertising. The organisation reports 36 editions of the Campus de Emprendedores, 10 editions of Venture on the Road and 18 editions of its Campus for Business Angels, a cadence showing how embedded it is in the Spanish calendar. Its founders include Vicente Arias, Oriol Vinzia and Jesus Monleon, the last of whom co-founded 4Founders Capital, so the accelerator and the fund share DNA while remaining separate organisations.

How to apply for funding

Applications run through seedrocket.com, where its programmes and open calls are listed. The main route is to apply for a Campus de Emprendedores edition when a call is open, setting out the team, the product, early traction and the fundraising plan. Places are limited to around a dozen startups per campus, so selection is competitive, and founders should show a real product rather than only an idea. There is no single published deadline, so watch the open calls page and apply as soon as a relevant edition opens.

Why it matters for founders

SeedRocket gives early stage founders in Spain something money alone cannot buy: a curated mentor network, investor visibility and a community, all without taking equity. If you are building a tech startup in Spain, it is a low cost, high value first step.
