Kyt Ventures — "kyt" meaning kite — calls itself "India's most investor friendly angel network," and for founders raising early, Kyt Ventures funding can mean access not to one cheque but to a whole flock of angels. The Hyderabad-based global angel network brings together successful entrepreneurs, seasoned professionals and CXOs, and addresses what it calls the single biggest early-stage problem: the lack of funds available at the start. Kyt invests in seed to early-stage startups and co-invests with other VCs and angel networks up to pre-Series A.

Investment thesis & focus

Kyt is explicitly sector-agnostic — "anything, not just tech, under the sky," from AI and big data to vernacular language products. Its stated focus areas for investing in "startups reaching the next billion" are consumption, retail, healthcare, travel, logistics, mobility and financial services. Notably, with almost half of India's population being women, womencare — products and services catering to women's unique needs and sensitivities — is a stated priority. The network's founders describe their capital as "active money": funding plus fundas — close mentoring, inputs on strategy and execution, and help with hiring, credit cycles and follow-on VC raises.

Cheque size & stage

Kyt invests from pre-seed to pre-Series A, with cheques of up to $1M per CB Insights' profile of the network (the official site does not publish a cheque range). The total fund size is not publicly disclosed; the network's reach is 2,500+ angel and institutional investors.

Notable portfolio

The portfolio includes Hotify.ai (exited), ClearDekho (partial exit), EdgeFx (exited), BHIVE (follow-on), Zomoz (follow-on, the momo QSR brand backed alongside Rebel Foods), Settlin, Knight Bite, Zealthy (women-centric vernacular healthcare), Toko Innovation, Intelitaap, Speedsz, Meetings & Offices, Kalaage, Snackible and Kaarigarmandi. Co-investors across its deals include Blume Venture Advisors, Mumbai Angels, Rebel Foods and ah! Ventures.

Partners & team

Kyt was founded by Gagan Gupta and Dr Anu Gupta, both prolific angel investors with 100+ startup investments between them. Gagan is a serial entrepreneur with an MBA from IE Business School, Madrid and a B.Tech in CSE. Dr Anu Gupta holds an MBA from ISB Hyderabad and is a trained physician pathologist (MBBS, MD) who previously worked as a doctor and drug scientist; she has been featured among the "Top Inspiring Women Investors" in the Indian startup ecosystem and among the 100 women entrepreneurs shaping and building India (HT Mint, 2022).

How to apply for funding

Kyt Ventures does not publish a public application form. The site invites founders to "reach us" if they are an early-stage startup (pre-seed to pre-Series A) with big dreams and want active money — funding plus hands-on mentorship. The practical route is contacting the team via kytventures.com or through warm introductions from its 2,500+ investor and founder community.

Why it matters for founders

Kyt is tailor-made for first-time founders who need more than a cheque: seasoned-operator mentoring, womencare and consumption-tech thesis fit, and syndicated capital through a genuinely global angel network.
