IIFL Capital funding stepped firmly into private equity on 22 October 2026, when IIFL Capital Asset Management Limited — the asset-management arm of IIFL Capital — announced the first close of the IIFL Late-Stage Private Equity Fund, the maiden fund of its private-equity platform, at aggregate commitments of approximately ₹500 crore (first close achieved 15 September 2026). The fund backs scaled-up, profitable Indian enterprises preparing to list on the public markets — a classic pre-IPO strategy, launched as India's primary market revived.

IIFL Capital funding: the pre-IPO mandate

The mandate is sharply defined: investee companies should rank among the top three to five players in their category, post EBITDA of ₹75–100 crore at investment, and intend to pursue an IPO within three years. IIFL targets sectors growing at 15–18 per cent per annum, with average deals of ₹50–100 crore per transaction. The live pipeline spans integrated security-as-a-service, railway and wind-energy components, specialty chemicals, defence equipment, IT-enabled services, pre-engineered buildings and consumer technology.

Fund size and progress

The fund targets a total corpus of ₹1,000 crore with a greenshoe option of an additional ₹1,000 crore, remains open for subscription, and aims for final close within nine months of the first close. Two transactions have already been committed, with seven to eight more in the pipeline from term-sheet negotiation to due diligence.

Team

The platform is led by Deepak Mittal, Chief Investment Officer and Head of Private Equity at IIFL Capital Asset Management, with Prakash Bulusu, Joint CEO for Private Wealth and Asset Management, also fronting the raise. The parent, IIFL Capital Services Ltd (formerly IIFL Securities Limited; NSE: IIFLCAPS, BSE: 542773), is a listed financial-services house spanning broking, wealth management, institutional broking, research and investment banking. The asset-management arm is SEBI-registered as an Alternative Investment Fund manager, investment adviser and portfolio manager.

How to apply for funding

This is a late-stage, pre-IPO fund — not early-stage VC — and there is no public founder pitch form. Deal flow runs through IIFL Capital's investment-banking and wealth networks; scaled, profitable founders nearing an IPO can reach the asset-management team via the official site, assetmanagement.iiflcapital.com. No credits or perks programme applies at this stage.

Why it matters for founders

India's IPO window is open — 35 mainboard listings in July–August 2026 alone, per the fund's own announcement — and IIFL's ₹500 crore first close gives profitable, scaled founders a domestic pre-IPO partner with its own banking and distribution muscle. If you're doing ₹75–100 crore in EBITDA and eyeing a listing within three years, this fund was built for your cap table.
