Enzia Ventures is a purpose-built, early-stage venture capital fund focused on three fundamental sectors: healthcare, education and environment. Founded by three women investors, it backs Indian founders building technology-led businesses in sectors where access, quality and sustainability still leave large gaps. For founders in these sectors, it is a specialist investor rather than a generalist fund, and that focus shapes everything from sourcing to support.

Thesis

Enzia Ventures believes healthcare, education and environment are each on the cusp of massive technology-driven change, and that startups have the right ingredients to capture it. It looks for founders building large businesses with the right model, and for the qualities of integrity and resilience. Its own description stresses depth of sector expertise and network over spray-and-pray deal flow, with thesis work done before investing rather than after.

Sectors and stages

The fund invests at seed to pre-Series A stage across healthcare, education and environment. Within healthcare it has looked at speciality care, insurtech and preventive care; within education at areas such as emotional intelligence and higher studies; and within environment at EV financing, emission measurement and reduction, and related climate themes. It aims to devote around one-third of the fund to each of the three sectors, with around half reserved for follow-on rounds.

Fund size and cheque size

Enzia Ventures launched a $40 million fund, about Rs 300 crore, in April 2021, according to its own site. At launch, the reported plan was to invest in around 15 to 20 startups, with a cheque size of Rs 4-5 crore per company.

Portfolio

Companies named on Enzia Ventures' own site include Morphie Labs, Numen Health, iMumz, Proactive for Her, Kafqa, ZenOnco.io, CuriousJr and leap.club. CuriousJr is a mobile-first, vernacular coding platform for children, while leap.club is a professional networking platform for women. ZenOnco.io provides personalised, end-to-end cancer care, and its USD 1.4 million round drew in Enzia Ventures alongside Better Capital and others. The pattern is consistent: consumer or patient-facing products in health, learning or environment, not deep infrastructure bets.

Partners and programmes

Enzia Ventures was founded by Jayashree Kanther Patodi, Karuna Jain and Namita Dalmia. Jayashree Kanther Patodi previously led late-stage investments in hospital and pharma companies, Karuna Jain led early-stage health, education and energy investments at Acumen, and Namita Dalmia worked in education policy and invested in companies including WhiteHat Jr and Vedantu. No separate accelerator programme is published on its site; the value-add is partner-led sector help, not a cohort programme.

How to apply for funding from Enzia Ventures

Enzia Ventures does not publish a public pitch form on its site, so founders should approach through the contact route on its official site, enzia.vc, with a concise pitch covering the sector thesis fit, stage, team and why the business can scale. Lead with one of its three sectors and show evidence of customer traction, since the fund's stated test is a large business with the right model, led by founders with integrity and resilience. Warm introductions from portfolio founders or co-investors will always travel better than a cold note.

Why it matters for founders

If you are building in health, education or environment at seed to pre-Series A stage, Enzia Ventures is one of the few India funds that will understand your sector on day one. Come with a clear thesis fit and a credible path to scale, not just a good product.
