If you are learning how to get funding from Allocations, place it correctly from the start. Allocations is a fund and SPV platform, not a traditional venture fund writing cheques from its own balance sheet. It gives emerging managers, syndicate leads and angel groups the software to form a vehicle, onboard investors, close a deal and report afterwards. For a founder, Allocations usually enters your round through a manager who is already backing you.

What Allocations is

Allocations was founded in 2019 by Kingsley Advani, a serial angel investor who had built an angel group of more than 1,000 investors before founding the platform. Headquartered in Miami, its mission is to democratise private investing by replacing slow fund formation with automated infrastructure. Built In reports it has enabled investments in companies such as SpaceX, Axiom Space and Udemy. Those are platform deals, not rounds led by Allocations itself. It publishes no single venture fund size, because it operates vehicles for other managers, so a fund size for Allocations as an investor is not publicly disclosed.

Thesis, sectors and stages

The thesis is that private investing should not be limited to large institutions with expensive legal and fund administration. By automating entity formation, banking, compliance and reporting, smaller managers can run venture deals and smaller investors can join them. Allocations covers a wider asset range than some rivals: venture capital, real estate, private credit, digital and tokenised assets, collectibles such as art and watches, royalty streams and other niche alternatives. It also runs a secondary market, AllocationsX, operated by Allocations Securities, LLC, a member of FINRA and SIPC, for buying and selling pre IPO company shares.

Pricing and what a vehicle includes

Published pricing is clear. A Standard SPV costs $9,950 as a one time fee, includes up to 35 investors, an unlimited raise, one closing, one venture asset, template documents and side letters, and a five year term. A Premium SPV costs $19,500 one time, includes up to 50 investors, multiple closes, any asset type and a five year term. A Fund costs $19,500 a year, includes up to 249 venture or 99 non venture investors, unlimited closes and 30 assets. Extra investors cost $100 each, with no platform carry included. Founders should still ask the manager what fee and carry the manager charges, as those are separate.

How a deal runs

A manager creates a branded deal room, forms the entity, opens a dedicated bank account, generates agreements and subscription documents from templates, onboards investors with know your customer, accreditation and electronic signature checks, then tracks commitments, closes and wires funds from one dashboard. For founders, the benefit is one professional vehicle on the cap table, rather than dozens of small individual investors to manage.

How to apply for funding

Founders do not pitch Allocations for a direct investment. Pitch the syndicate lead, angel group or emerging manager who will run the vehicle, and confirm early that they use Allocations. Managers can start on the official site, choose a Standard SPV, Premium SPV or Fund, and use the Get Started route, which links to a booking page, to speak to the team. Before closing, agree the timetable, the manager fee and carry, and the information the vehicle will receive.

Why it matters for founders

Treat Allocations as the operating system behind your backers, not as the backer itself. If your lead can launch a clean SPV or fund at a published price, you gain speed and a simpler cap table. Your job remains winning a credible lead and agreeing fair terms.
