Startup funding in India got a late-stage booster on October 23, 2026, as IIFL Capital Asset Management achieved the first close of the IIFL Late-Stage Private Equity Fund at approximately ₹500 crore. It is the maiden fund of IIFL Capital's private equity platform, led by CIO and Head of Private Equity Deepak Mittal.

A pre-IPO war chest

The vehicle is targeting a total corpus of ₹1,000 crore, with a greenshoe option of an additional ₹1,000 crore, and remains open for subscription. IIFL aims to reach the final close within the next nine months.

The fund invests in scaled-up, profitable Indian enterprises preparing to list on the public markets in the near term. Its bar is exacting: the investee company should be among the top three to five players in its category, should have EBITDA of at least ₹75–100 crore at investment, and should intend to pursue an IPO within three years. The average deal size is expected to be ₹50–100 crore per transaction.

Where it will deploy

The pipeline is diversified across integrated security-as-a-service, railway and wind energy components, specialty chemicals, defence equipment, IT-enabled services, pre-engineered buildings and consumer technology. For founders, this is a public roadmap: if your company fits the profile, this fund is actively looking for you.

Why it matters for founders

A dedicated ₹1,000-crore-plus pre-IPO platform means the listing ladder for mature startups just got wider. If your EBITDA is nearing ₹75 crore and an IPO is on a three-year horizon, late-stage capital like this is built precisely for your next round.
