Hyderabad Angels has been part of the city's startup story since 2012, and it now describes itself with some justification as the beating heart of the Hyderabad ecosystem. The network brings together more than 120 investors — entrepreneurs, industrialists and family offices whose members claim to have collectively built over $1 billion in enterprise value across technology, healthcare, media and manufacturing.

For founders, the network sells something beyond the cheque. Hyderabad Angels showcases only 3–4 startups each month, giving each company focused attention from serious investors, and it manages the fundraising process end to end — investor introductions, deep-dive sessions, commitments, legal structuring and due diligence. Post-investment, founders get strategic mentorship, business connections and operator-led insight from members who have built and exited companies themselves. The pitch to founders is direct: the network looks for teams solving large problems, building scalable tech and showing strong execution.

The track record is substantial. The network's portfolio has included NowFloats, BluSmart Mobility, ZineOne, Metamorphosis, Flexmo and OnlinePrasad, while current founders such as WickedGud, GetPay and Cheerio publicly credit the network with unlocking follow-on VC funding and enterprise partnerships. By early 2026 the network counted more than 80 investments and 21 exits, delivering an average 3.2x return to its investors, according to the Hindu BusinessLine. Historically it wrote cheques of up to $150,000 at seed stage and up to $1 million at pre-Series A.

The bigger recent move is institutional: in March 2024 Hyderabad Angels launched Hyderabad Angels Fund I (HAF), a Category I AIF with a target corpus of ₹150 crore — a ₹100 crore investable corpus plus a ₹50 crore greenshoe option — and closed its first ₹50 crore oversubscribed. The sector-agnostic fund plans to deploy up to ₹5 crore each across about 20 startups at pre-Series A and Series A where technology and AI drive scalability, with strong follow-on reserves. Early HAF investments include spacetech startup Dhruva Space, gamer social app STAN and AI marketing platform BambooBox, led by managing partners Rathnakar Samavedam, Sri Myneni and Kishore Ganji.

Why it matters for founders

If you are raising a seed or pre-Series A round and want operators on your cap table rather than just capital, Hyderabad Angels remains one of the most founder-friendly rooms in the country — and the new ₹150 crore fund means the network can now lead rounds and follow on, not just syndicate. Apply through their funding page, come with traction and a scalable tech story, and treat the monthly showcase as a high-signal stage: only three or four startups make it each month.
