Haun Ventures is a Menlo Park crypto firm founded in 2022 by Katie Haun. It launched with $1.5 billion across two funds — a $500 million early-stage fund and a $1 billion acceleration fund — the largest debut ever raised by a solo female founding partner, according to PitchBook data cited by Cointelegraph at the time. The firm's own framing is grander: backing the founders building the future of finance, on the conviction that decentralised technology is the foundation for a more efficient, transparent and accessible financial system.
Thesis
Haun's opening thesis was that crypto would reshape every layer of finance. Today, the firm says, that is already visible in stablecoins and instant cross-border payments; tomorrow it will underpin the entire digital landscape. The thesis has since widened. In May 2026 the firm raised $1 billion across new early- and later-stage funds, telling Bloomberg the capital would target three areas: next-generation financial infrastructure (payments, banking, custody, foreign exchange), the digitalisation of assets and markets — including stablecoins, tokenised commodities such as gold and oil, and prediction markets — and the agentic economy, where AI systems transact on behalf of humans. Katie Haun has described this as the most dynamic period in technology and finance she has witnessed, as the foundations of capital, commerce and trust undergo structural change. The firm plans to deploy the capital globally over the next two to three years.
Fund size and stages
The debut $1.5 billion (2022) splits between early-stage and acceleration vehicles, and the firm invests from seed stage to scale. The May 2026 raise added $1 billion across new early- and later-stage funds. PitchBook estimates put assets under management at more than $2 billion (reported by TechCrunch in May 2026). The firm deployed cautiously through the 2022–2023 downturn, telling TechCrunch in 2024 it had made 48 investments across its two debut funds.
Notable portfolio
Haun's most celebrated exits validate its stablecoin-infrastructure bets: Bridge, acquired by Stripe for $1.1 billion, and BVNK, acquired by Mastercard for up to $1.8 billion. The portfolio also includes Aptos, OpenSea, Chainalysis, Fireblocks, Farcaster, Zora, Chaos Labs, Agora, Erebor Bank and Ellipsis Labs.
Partners
Katie Haun is founder and CEO. A former US federal prosecutor who created the Justice Department's first cryptocurrency task force, she became the first independent board member of Coinbase and the first female general partner at Andreessen Horowitz, where she co-led the crypto franchise, before leaving in late 2021. She was named to Bloomberg's "50 People Who Defined Global Business" in 2022. Her investment team includes General Partner Diogo Mónica (co-founder of Anchorage), partners Chris Ahn, Breck Stodghill and Sam Rosenblum, with advisers including Chris Lehane and Jared Cohen. Distinctively for a crypto fund, Haun built an in-house policy muscle, promising at launch to partner with its portfolio on a global campaign for web3 that engages policymakers.
Programmes and perks
Haun Ventures runs no public accelerator, fellowship or credits programme. Its founder-facing offer is the combination of a crypto-native investing team, a regulatory and policy network, and the signalling power of one of crypto's most visible investors.
Why it matters for founders
Haun Ventures is one of the few crypto funds with both fresh, large-scale capital and a proven stablecoin-infrastructure track record. Founders building payments infrastructure, stablecoin products or AI-agent financial rails now have a dedicated $1 billion pool aimed squarely at them, plus a partner bench that understands the regulatory terrain. If your product touches how money moves, this is a door worth knocking on.
