Gut-health startup Guttify plans to expand into select Tier II markets across Uttar Pradesh, Rajasthan and Punjab through pilot initiatives in FY27, targeting fivefold growth in annual recurring revenue (ARR) — the latest sign that startup funding in India is flowing towards personalised, D2C health brands.

The traction

The company has served over 30,000 consumers and reported 67% quarter-on-quarter growth. Its ₹399 DIY Gut Scan Kit sold approximately 15,000 units between January and August 2026, with around half of buyers subsequently purchasing other products — a repeat-purchase funnel that suggests the diagnostic product is working as a customer acquisition engine.

What's next

Guttify plans to expand its portfolio with new products including Poopie, a fibre-based constipation-support product, and RISE, a morning greens blend, while strengthening personalised recommendations, consumer education and expert guidance. The Tier II push across three states is a test of whether science-led gut-health products can travel beyond metros, where health awareness and spending patterns differ significantly.

Why it matters for founders

Guttify's playbook — a ₹399 diagnostic kit as a low-friction entry point, then upselling personalised products — is a template for D2C health startups struggling with CAC. Its Tier II expansion will be watched closely: if the model works in Lucknow and Jaipur, it unlocks a far bigger market than metro wellness.
