Granite Asia is the Asia-focused successor to GGV Capital, one of Silicon Valley and Asia's best-known cross-border venture franchises. In March 2024, after GGV Capital split amid US–China geopolitical scrutiny of American investment in Chinese technology, the firm's Asia operations rebranded as Granite Asia while the US business became Notable Capital. The name honours Granite Global Ventures, the firm's original name when it was founded in 2000.

The firm is headquartered in Singapore and invests across the Asia-Pacific region — South-east Asia, China, Japan, India (South Asia) and Australia. It is led by senior managing partners Jenny Lee and Jixun Foo, long-time GGV managing partners with a track record spanning more than two decades. An advisory council including GGV founding partner Thomas Ng, former GIC president for Special Investments Dr Teh Kok Peng, and Teo Ming Kian, former chairman of Singapore's National Science and Technology Board, supports the firm's expanding vision.

Granite Asia describes itself as Asia's leading multi-asset investment platform, deploying capital across venture capital, growth equity and private credit. Its stated investment thesis centres on five long-term themes: Consumer Growth & Transformation, Enterprise Workflow & Supply Chain, Food Systems & Sustainability, Health Innovation & Wellness, and Energy Transition & Automation.

On scale, the firm has not publicly disclosed individual fund sizes. Third-party reporting puts assets under management at approximately US$8.5 billion (2025); the firm itself cites around US$10 billion including co-managed capital, with 48 portfolio companies that reached valuations above US$1 billion and over 60 IPOs supported. The firm has stated a first anchor close of over US$250 million for its Pan-Asia private credit strategy, Libra Hybrid Capital, which provides non-dilutive capital to Asia's mid-market corporates.

Notable portfolio companies include Grab, Alibaba, Xiaomi, ByteDance, Didi and Xpeng Motors, many of which were backed through the firm's GGV lineage. Note that the US-side successor, Notable Capital, manages the American portfolio (including companies such as Airbnb and Coinbase) — Indian and Asian founders should engage Granite Asia's Singapore-based team directly.

Why it matters for founders

Granite Asia is one of the largest Asia-dedicated venture platforms, with a genuine multi-asset mandate spanning early-stage equity to private credit — useful for founders whose capital needs evolve beyond a single round. Its leadership has backed some of Asia's biggest outcomes over 25 years, but the firm is investor-led with no publicly disclosed ticket ranges or open founder programmes, so outreach goes through warm introductions or the firm's official contact channels. Indian founders should note that Granite Asia covers South Asia from Singapore; it is a separate firm from both the US-side Notable Capital and from HongShan, the former Sequoia China, with which it shares no corporate relationship.
