Coimbatore-based food services platform Focus Prism has acquired FoodExo Chennai Pvt. Ltd, a corporate catering company serving 150,000 meals per day, in a deal that signals accelerating consolidation in India's institutional catering segment.
The acquisition was worth about ₹150 crore in a mix of cash and stock, Mint reported on October 19, 2026. The bulk of the proceeds from Focus Prism's recent ₹145 crore fundraise from OAKS Asset Management — which took a significant minority stake — financed the deal, with the rest reserved for growth plans.
What Focus Prism gets
FoodExo, led by founder and managing director Ganesh Panchanathan, began in 2011 with 60 employees serving 1,000 people, and has scaled to 2,000+ employees as of 2025. Panchanathan has been absorbed into Focus Prism as head of operations – south.
Focus Prism is now targeting ₹700 crore in revenue this fiscal year, consolidating market share in a sector currently dominated by global players.
Why it matters for founders
Focus Prism shows the consolidate-to-scale playbook: raise institutional capital, acquire a profitable operator, absorb its founder as regional lead. In fragmented service sectors, M&A is the fastest route to national scale.
