Global startup funding with an India touch: New York-based Fission Labs has closed a $10 million Series A led by Pantera Capital, the blockchain investor that ETtech also counted among the week's most active investors in Indian deals. The round was announced on October 15, 2026.

Fission builds liquidity infrastructure for tokenized investment funds across private credit, alternatives and other institutional products. The platform lets eligible holders access capital without waiting for traditional fund redemption cycles, and the company says it has already processed millions of dollars in redemptions.

Startup funding India news: tokenization meets real liquidity

Joining Pantera in the round: Circle Ventures, Borderless Capital, Ari Rubenstein (GTS CEO), plus existing backers New Form, gumi Cryptos Capital, Anthony Scaramucci, Manhattan Venture Partners, Reflexive Capital and Lattice Capital. Its team brings experience from institutions including Point72 and Securitize.

“Investment funds are moving onto digital rails and liquidity is one of the critical pieces required for that transition to reach its full potential,” said Franklin Bi, General Partner at Pantera Capital. Founder and CEO Jonathan Shaffer added that tokenization's real promise is “broadening distribution, continuous liquidity and the ability to use fund interests as collateral in lending markets.”

The new capital will expand Fission's liquidity capacity, broaden asset coverage and deepen institutional integrations across the digital investment ecosystem.

Why it matters for founders

The plumbing of finance is going on-chain, and investors are funding the pipes, not just the tokens. For Indian founders: watch GIFT City and SEBI's tokenization pilots – regulated liquidity infrastructure for funds, credit and real assets is a greenfield where a domestic Fission-style play could be built next.
