Ev2 Ventures — formerly Emergent Ventures — is a Gurgaon-based pre-Series A venture fund with a single, sharp identity: smart mobility. Founded in 2019, the firm invests for what it calls "impact at venture scale," partnering with ambitious entrepreneurs who want to make a sustainable impact on the planet while growing on a rapid trajectory.
Where generalist funds dabble in mobility as one sector among many, Ev2 makes it the whole thesis. Post-investment, the firm brings sector focus coupled with deep industry knowledge — a targeted growth playbook and a community of successful mentors designed to get portfolio startups to their next major milestone faster.
Sectors and stage
Ev2 invests at the early to pre-Series A stages. Its sector map reads like a blueprint of India's transport reinvention: smart mobility spanning electric vehicles (EVs, batteries, drivetrains, charging and swapping infrastructure), connected supply chain and smart logistics, micro-mobility, agri supply-chain technology, warehousing tech and the sharing economy.
Portfolio
The portfolio tracks the EV ecosystem end to end. It includes Euler Motors (light electric commercial vehicles), Enmovil (driving analytics), Cogo (intra-city logistics aggregation), Eveez (two-wheeler EV subscription platform), AltMobility (EV financing and asset intelligence), Swapp Design (automated 4W battery swapping), Simactricals (EV wireless charging), Centriti (B2B distribution for HoReCa and mid-mile logistics), Fambo (agri supply-chain technology) and Rosh.ai (autonomous vehicle technology).
People
The firm was co-founded by Charles, a former global head of Mergers & Acquisitions at Harman International — the connected-car Fortune 500 company acquired by Samsung — who began his career as a New York corporate attorney at O'Melveny and holds a Wharton MBA and a Georgetown law degree. Partner Karan Mittal brings over 13 years of private equity, venture capital and M&A experience across India, South-East Asia and the US, joining after a stint as Partner at Velos Partners. The advisory bench is heavyweight: Vinay Mittal (former Chairman of the Railway Board), Dinesh Mittal (former Secretary in the Ministry of Finance) and Samrat Ganguly (co-founder and managing partner at Velos Partners), among others.
The fund's total corpus is not publicly disclosed. There is no formal accelerator program; the value-add is the sector-focused playbook, mentor community and post-investment support aimed at the next milestone. Founders can reach the team at [email protected].
Why it matters for founders
If you are building in EVs, logistics technology or agri supply chains and want investors who speak the language of mobility rather than generalists learning your sector on your money, Ev2's depth is the draw. A cold email with a crisp note on the problem, your wedge and your traction can start the conversation.
