India has one of the world's largest two-wheeler markets — yet collision-prevention systems remain largely limited to cars. Enter EdgeVerse, the 2023-founded startup building an AI-powered stack to bring advanced rider assistance to two-wheelers.
The startup's flagship product is Perceiva, an advanced rider assistance system (ARAS) for two-wheelers. Akin to ADAS for cars, the system combines camera, radar and GPS inputs to deliver real-time perception and safety for riders.
Edge AI for rider safety
EdgeVerse's hardware platform is designed to run perception workloads at the edge, reducing dependence on cloud connectivity — critical on Indian roads. The startup also claims its technology works with existing camera and radar architectures, enabling OEMs to add safety intelligence without significantly increasing vehicle cost or hardware complexity.
Having already conducted road testing, EdgeVerse plans to enter the market through OEM partnerships in late-2026, and is also experimenting with use cases like industrial automation and other edge-AI applications. The prize is large: the Indian ADAS market is projected to become a $3.1 billion opportunity by 2031.
Why it matters for founders
EdgeVerse shows how deeptech startups can de-risk hardware plays: edge-native design, compatibility with existing OEM architectures, and road testing before partnerships. In 2026, working pilots beat pitch decks.
