D2C Insider, founded in 2019 by a group of industry leaders, has grown into a key player in the evolution of India's D2C ecosystem — supporting over 10,000 members including top brand founders, enablers and investors — and in June 2026 it turned that community into capital. ConsumerX Ventures, launched as a SEBI-registered Category II Alternative Investment Fund with a target corpus of ₹150 crore, positions itself as India's first operator-led, early-stage fund focused exclusively on new-age and digitally native consumer brands.

The thesis addresses a gap the team saw firsthand: the lack of structured institutional support for consumer founders at the zero-to-one stage. ConsumerX Ventures plans to invest in 20 to 25 high-potential consumer startups, primarily at the pre-seed and seed stages, writing cheques of ₹3–5 crore per company while reserving roughly 40% of the corpus for follow-on rounds through Series A. It targets ownership stakes of around 10–15%.

Capital is only half the pitch. The fund draws on D2C Insider's network of more than 30,000 founders, operators, investors and ecosystem partners for sourcing, diligence and hands-on support — from scaling revenue and sharpening distribution to preparing portfolio companies for institutional Series A fundraising within about 18 months. The fund's sweet spot: emerging brands riding structural shifts in Indian consumption, especially Gen Z consumers and the fast-growing Bharat market, where digital adoption and aspirational consumption are reshaping retail. It is also betting on kids-focused businesses and globally scalable consumer brands built in India.

The leadership combines community and capital experience. Abhishek Shah, chief evangelist at D2C Insider, leads the platform as managing partner, while Chhavi Bhardwaj, who managed D2C Insider's Super Angels Fund — a ₹25 crore Category I fund backed by more than 70 operator-led LPs — joined as general partner. The launch was announced at the D2C Insider Super Angels Annual Day in New Delhi/Gurugram, attended by more than 120 founders, operators and ecosystem leaders from brands including Paytm, Xiaomi, Sirona Hygiene, Nykaa, Pee Safe, InsuranceDekho, Rage Coffee and Bacca Bucci. D2C Insider also runs the Elevate growth accelerator for early-stage D2C brands.

Why it matters for founders

If you are building a consumer brand at pre-seed or seed stage and want investors who have actually launched, scaled and sold consumer products, ConsumerX Ventures offers something rare: institutional capital stapled to a 30,000-member operator network. It is designed for founders building for Gen Z and Bharat — the cohorts reshaping Indian consumption right now.
