Venture capital firms are in discussions to invest more than Rs 1,000 crore across a dozen consumer startups, Moneycontrol reported on 29 October 2026, citing at least 20 sources. The talks are a fresh sign of life in startup funding in India for consumer brands, even though none of these rounds has closed yet.
Technosport leads the queue
Sports apparel maker Technosport, based in Bengaluru and Tiruppur, is in advanced talks to raise around Rs 250-300 crore, with Premji, Sofina, Lighthouse Canton and 360 One in the fray, according to the report. The 11-year-old company is reportedly being valued at around Rs 3,000 crore, up from about Rs 1,800 crore at its last round, having raised just over Rs 250 crore so far. Technosport itself cautioned that the reported amount, valuation and investor names are speculative and that no formal agreements are in place.
mCaffeine, Health Factory and more
Beauty and personal care brand mCaffeine is in talks to raise around Rs 250-300 crore from Elev8 Venture Partners and others, in a round that is largely secondary share sales with a primary portion and could grow beyond Rs 600 crore as talks firm up, at a reported valuation of Rs 2,500-2,800 crore. Protein-bread maker The Health Factory is in talks for Rs 200 crore, bubble-tea chain Boba Bhai is reportedly valued at around Rs 1,000 crore, and pre-owned goods platform Circle is stitching together a Rs 100 crore round from Elevation Capital and others.
Why it matters for founders
These are negotiations, not closed rounds, and founders should read them that way. The signal is real though: investors are backing niche consumer stories — sports apparel, functional foods, beauty — rather than waiting for one giant horizontal winner.
