Chapter Home, a home and kitchen products startup founded in 2025 by former PharmEasy executives, has raised Rs 63 crore in a mix of equity and debt, marking one of the more notable rounds of startup funding in India this week. The round was led by Bessemer Venture Partners, with venture debt firm Stride Ventures, comedian Tanmay Bhat and a group of family offices also participating, The Economic Times reported on October 22, 2026.
A Rs 1,000 crore valuation in year one
The round values Chapter Home at close to Rs 1,000 crore, an unusually rich valuation for a company founded just last year. The startup was founded by Nitin Chugh, Akarsh Bharadwaj, Shrey Mittal, Dhiraj Jain and Dheeraj Goyal, all former executives at online drugstore PharmEasy, bringing deep e-commerce and operations experience to the home and kitchen category.
The company plans to use the capital to strengthen product development, expand into new categories, invest in technology and brand building, and scale up distribution. Home and kitchen remains one of the most competitive corners of Indian consumer brands, where execution on product and offline distribution separates the winners.
What the raise signals
The participation of both a top-tier VC and a venture debt firm in the same round shows investors are willing to underwrite category leaders early when the founding team has a proven operating pedigree. Bessemer's backing adds institutional validation, while the family-office money suggests strong private-market appetite for branded home products.
Why it matters for founders
A pedigreed founding team can compress the usual fundraising timeline dramatically — Chapter Home reached a near-unicorn valuation within a year. If you are building a consumer brand, ex-operator founders with distribution experience remain the fastest route to investor conviction.
