Preventive health startup Cent has raised $15 million in a Series A round, including equity and debt, co-led by Blume Ventures and existing investor South Park Commons. The round, announced on 27 October 2026, is a major bet on startup funding in India for preventive healthcare.

Founded in 2025 by Practo founder Shashank ND, former Ola Electric CMO Anshul Khandelwal and former Lenskart product head Arpit Garg, Cent operates preventive health centres in Bengaluru, Mumbai and Delhi-NCR. Its flagship Cent Check combines full-body MRI, low-dose CT, DEXA, ECG, echocardiography and more than 100 biomarkers in a roughly two-hour visit.

Cent says it has completed 10,000 whole-body scans since inception and is targeting 10 million scans by 2035. Among members who reported feeling well at screening, it says one in four had a finding requiring action, while one in 40 needed immediate medical attention — the kind of statistic that explains why investors are paying attention.

Alongside the round, Cent acquired Medsee, an AI-powered radiology reporting platform founded by Chitra Singh, which drafts structured reports and highlights findings for review by qualified radiologists. The capital will fund research and development and strengthen Cent's AI, engineering and clinical teams.

Individual investors in the round include former Vodafone CEO Arun Sarin and former OpenAI B2B CTO Srinivas Narayanan. The message is clear: preventive care is moving from a wellness slogan to an infrastructure business, with hardware, AI and clinical teams under one roof.

Why it matters for founders

Preventive healthcare sells an outcome people cannot see — a problem caught early. Founders in this space should treat clinical credibility as the product: verified findings, qualified reviewers and transparent numbers will matter more than any marketing claim.
