Automotive classifieds company CarTrade Tech has reported a consolidated net profit of ₹66 crore for Q2 FY27, up 3% from ₹64.1 crore a year earlier, while operating revenue grew 10% to ₹213.1 crore. The results, reported on 28 October 2026, add another profitable quarter to startup funding in India for listed internet companies.
Total income, including other income of ₹23.1 crore, stood at ₹236.2 crore. EBITDA rose 20% year-on-year to ₹76 crore, with the EBITDA margin expanding to 36% from 33%. Profit before tax reached ₹85 crore, up 7%, and net profit rose 16.2% sequentially from ₹56.8 crore in Q1 FY27.
For the half year ended 30 September 2026, revenue grew 13% to ₹414 crore, EBITDA rose 30% to ₹139 crore, and profit after tax rose 10% to ₹123 crore. Chairman and founder Vinay Sanghi said the company delivered its highest-ever quarterly revenue and highest Q2 profit before tax, with OLX India recording 26% revenue growth and 36% EBITDA growth.
Operationally, CarTrade reported about 76 million average monthly unique visitors during the quarter, with 96% of traffic organic, across brands including CarWale, BikeWale, Shriram Automall, Adroit Auto, Mobility Outlook and OLX India. The company also holds a cash balance of ₹1,401 crore as of 30 September 2026, with a zero-debt position.
The quarter's lesson is in the mix: revenue growth of 10% with EBITDA growth of 20% means margins expanded even as growth stayed steady — the profile of a marketplace that is monetising existing traffic better rather than buying growth at any cost.
Why it matters for founders
Organic traffic is a moat that compounds. Ninety-six percent organic visitors and a 36% EBITDA margin show what happens when a marketplace earns its demand instead of renting it — founders should treat organic share as a financial metric, not a marketing one.
