CoinSwitch Ventures, the investment arm of crypto exchange CoinSwitch, has rebranded as BlackLane Capital, becoming an independent global early-stage investment firm and moving beyond its Web3 roots.
The rebrand was announced on October 13, 2026 in Bengaluru. BlackLane will invest across fintech, enterprise infrastructure, new-age consumer applications and digital assets, writing cheques of up to $5 million. It aims to enable more than $100 million in funding for startups over the next five years through its own investments and its wider network of founders, investors and strategic partners.
Established in 2022, CoinSwitch Ventures initially focused on Web3, blockchain and token projects, backing more than 26 startups including Stan, Deconflict, Yousend and Uniblock. Investment Head Pratyush Shah said the firm's Web3 roots gave it a global outlook from day one and that AI lowering the barriers to building technology businesses across borders is one of the themes it is most excited about.
CoinSwitch cofounder Ashish Singhal said the new name gives the team scope to back founders early across a wider universe of opportunities, from financial services and infrastructure to consumer businesses and entirely new digital categories. The firm will draw on the wider PeepalCo ecosystem for operating experience, partnerships and follow-on funding support.
The move comes as CoinSwitch itself turned profitable in FY26, with revenue more than doubling year-on-year and over $300 million raised to date.
