Bharat Value Fund (BVF) is one of India's most active mid-market growth investors — a SEBI-registered Category II Alternative Investment Fund scheme housed under the India Inflection Opportunity Trust (IIOT) and managed by The Wealth Company Pvt Ltd, the asset-management arm of Mumbai's Pantomath Group (formerly Pantomath Capital Management).

Its thesis is sector-agnostic but deliberately Indian: back resilient, asset-backed mid-market enterprises — typically with revenues of ₹300–1,000 Cr, often rooted in Tier 2 and Tier 3 cities — riding 'Made in India' themes such as import substitution, exports and rural consumption. Sectors in focus include manufacturing, consumer products, electronics, industrial services and logistics. The fund invests at the growth and pre-IPO stage and plans structured exits — usually an IPO within 30–36 months of investment — with an active-ownership model that supports strategy, hiring, business development and governance.

BVF raises capital in series. Series 1 closed ₹500 Cr in 2023. Series 2, launched in 2024, targeted ₹2,000 Cr (a ₹1,000 Cr base plus ₹1,000 Cr green shoe), with first-close commitments reported above ₹1,000 Cr. Series 3 announced a ₹1,250 Cr first close against a ₹2,500 Cr target (including ₹1,000 Cr green shoe). Series V, with a ₹1,000 Cr target plus ₹1,000 Cr green shoe, carries a realty mandate — equity investments in plotted residential developments across the Mumbai MMR, Pune, Bengaluru, Chennai and Hyderabad.

The deal sheet is substantial. In October 2026, BVF invested ₹400 Cr in fitness brand Boldfit's Series B — reported as its fourth ~₹400 Cr investment in twelve months. In July 2026 it put ₹500 Cr into Zetwerk's pre-IPO round at a ~$3 Bn valuation. Other disclosed investments include ₹460 Cr in Amnex Infotechnologies, ₹161 Cr in EV startup BGauss (as sole investor), ₹235 Cr for a minority stake in Prabhuji Haldiram (Haldiram Bhujiawala), ₹55 Cr in Aniket Metals, and positions in Veira Electronics, Marudhar Rocks, Big Mishra, Incuspaze and Prisma Global.

The manager's public face is Madhu Lunawat — Founder and Managing Director of The Wealth Company, CIO of the India Inflection Opportunity Trust, co-founder of Pantomath Group, a Chartered Accountant with over 20 years' experience who previously served as CFO of Edelweiss ARC. Pratik Jain has been appointed Managing Partner – Investments (Alternates) at The Wealth Company.

Two honest caveats. BVF has no standalone official website that could be found — the record here rests on the manager's site, SEBI-adjacent registry data and press. And the fund runs no public accelerator, fellowship or founder-credits programme that could be verified; this is a pure growth-equity shop.

Why it matters for founders

For founders of profitable mid-market businesses — especially manufacturers and consumer companies in Tier 2/3 India — Bharat Value Fund is a genuine pre-IPO growth option with serious cheque sizes and a stated IPO-path exit. But it is not an early-stage VC: expect revenue-scale thresholds, governance asks and an active-ownership style that suits companies ready for a listing within three years.
