Astrology and spiritual wellness platform Astrotalk has reported a more than tenfold jump in net profit for FY26, to ₹222 crore from ₹22 crore in FY25, while operating revenue rose 55% to ₹1,823 crore from ₹1,176 crore. The results, reported on 28 October 2026, make Astrotalk one of the clearest profitability stories in startup funding in India this earnings season.
Founded in 2017 by Puneet Gupta and Anmol Jain, the Noida-based company connects users with astrologers through paid chat, call and video consultations. Consultation revenue rose 45% to ₹1,657 crore, accounting for about 91% of operating revenue.
International business was the standout driver: overseas revenue surged 2.6 times to ₹621 crore from ₹236 crore, taking its share of total revenue to 34% from 20% a year earlier. Domestic revenue grew 28% to ₹1,202 crore, and international markets contributed more than half of the company's incremental revenue during the year.
A second business is also emerging. The Astrotalk Store, selling certified Rudraksha, gemstones, crystals and Vastu-related products, grew revenue 4.4 times to ₹166 crore from ₹37 crore. Operating cash flow rose 21% to ₹229 crore, and year-end cash and investments rose 41.1% to ₹917 crore, with the company saying it funded FY26 investments through internal cash flows.
Growth came at a cost: advertising spend more than doubled to ₹823 crore. But the combination of a profitable core, a growing international arm and a second revenue line funded from internal cash flow is exactly the profile late-stage investors look for — and Astrotalk joined the unicorn club in August 2026 following an ESOP buyback at a $1 billion valuation.
Why it matters for founders
Profitability with growth is the hardest combination in consumer internet, and Astrotalk's FY26 shows how it is built: a core service that monetises, an international arm that diversifies, and a second business line that compounds — funded, crucially, from internal cash flow.
