Asiana Fund is the India-focused investment platform of the Dani family office, founded in 2017 by Jalaj Dani, co-promoter of Asian Paints and chairman of aerospace startup EndureAir and robotics startup Addverb. Since 2017 it has invested more than ₹700 crore across 11 private equity investments, with a portfolio spanning advanced manufacturing, robotics, drones, medtech and cleantech.
The Asiana-JCC fund
In September 2026, Asiana partnered with Taiwan-based venture capital firm JC Capital (founded 2019 by Jim Chen; ₹1,000+ crore invested across 30 companies in semiconductors, AI and cleantech) to launch the Asiana-JCC Advanced Manufacturing & Innovation Fund — a SEBI-registered Category II AIF with a ₹600 crore base corpus and a ₹400 crore greenshoe option, totalling ₹1,000 crore.
The fund targets 12–15 growth-stage, IP-led companies, primarily at Series A and B, across advanced manufacturing and robotics, semiconductors and computing, materials and sustainability, and aerospace and defence. The sponsors have committed more than 20% of the corpus themselves. Beyond capital, the fund promises portfolio companies technology and know-how transfers, access to Taiwan's semiconductor ecosystem, global supply-chain connections and support for international expansion.
Thesis and cheque size
The fund focuses on early-growth businesses with a clear path to commercialisation rather than R&D-stage bets, with initial investments planned at ₹30–50 crore and capital reserved for follow-ons. Its thesis: India can move beyond assembly to design products, build its own IP and compete globally — combining Asiana's Indian industrial network with Taiwan's technology ecosystem. The pipeline includes compound semiconductors, motion control for EVs and robotics, secure silicon, smart grids, robotic vision and optoelectronics.
The launch lands amid India's semiconductor manufacturing push, with the government reporting large global commitments under its Semicon 2.0 initiative — exactly the tailwind an IP-led manufacturing fund is built to ride.
On the Asiana side, the platform's listed investments have included Lohum, WickedGüd and Flipspaces Technology Labs, and its track record since 2017 covers advanced manufacturing, robotics, drones, medtech and cleantech. On the JC Capital side, more than 80% of its investors are corporate limited partners across the US, Japan, Taiwan and Malaysia — giving the new fund direct access to corporate technology partners and international networks that most domestic funds cannot offer.
Why it matters for founders
If you're building in semiconductors, robotics, drones, aerospace or advanced materials, this is the fund that was literally designed for you — family-office patience plus a live bridge into Taiwan's electronics supply chain. With ₹30–50 crore first cheques and sponsors committing over 20% of their own capital, Asiana-JCC is a rare combination of deep pockets and deep industrial networks.
