Children's nutrition startup As You Asked has raised ₹45 lakh in a pre-seed funding round from ISB D-Labs and angel investors. The capital will support its market launch, product development and expansion of its nutrition range for children aged two to 12.

Founded by Nehal Sharma, As You Asked takes a food-first approach to everyday nutrition — products designed to complement regular meals rather than replace them, with formulations intended for consistent use over time. The company says it worked with nutrition experts and built its products around parents' routines and children's needs.

The initial portfolio includes an age-specific milk mix with measured protein support, a hydration formulation with sodium, potassium, magnesium and glucose, and micronutrient gummies formulated without added sugar or sugar alcohols. The startup has conducted conversations with more than 100 parents, over 200 child taste tests and an early pilot involving more than 200 customers to map children's eating patterns and taste preferences.

The pre-seed round positions the young brand to enter a children's nutrition market dominated by legacy players — a segment where parents increasingly read labels and question added sugar.

Why it matters for founders

Children's nutrition is becoming a label-reading category — As You Asked's no-added-sugar, food-first positioning is exactly where informed parents are heading.
