Aditya Birla Ventures (ABV) is the venture capital arm of the Aditya Birla Group, one of India's largest conglomerates. Founded in late 2021 by Aryaman Vikram Birla, the fund was created to back the new age leading businesses of tomorrow, led by outstanding founding teams.
What sets ABV apart from a conventional VC is its Capital++ approach — the idea that founders get more than a cheque. Backed by the Aditya Birla Group's 165+ years of operating history across more than 40 countries, the firm opens the conglomerate's global ecosystem, industry relationships and experience to its portfolio companies.
Thesis, sectors and stages
ABV invests across sectors but keeps a special focus on consumer-tech, health-tech, deep-tech, fin-tech, enterprise-tech (including SaaS) and consumer brands. It invests at early to mid growth stages — typically from Series A through Series C and beyond — and also pays attention to healthcare delivery, sustainability, and media and entertainment.
Its stated mission is long-term oriented: generating alpha returns through conviction-led investing while fostering partnerships built on shared purpose, values and trust. The firm's purpose statement sums it up — to power top 'quality' businesses with capital, credibility and capabilities.
Portfolio
The fund's portfolio already spans several of India's high-growth sectors. In fintech infrastructure it backs Finbox, a digital credit infrastructure company, and in 2025 it invested in Stable Money, a wealth-tech platform aimed at the financial aspirations of 'Middle India' through fixed-income products. In health-tech it backs Eka.Care, while its consumer bets include Giva, a fine silver jewellery brand, Mokobara, a new-age travel lifestyle brand, and FirstClub, a quality-first q-commerce platform.
ABV has also leaned into deep-tech: its portfolio includes Digantara (space situational awareness), Pixxel (hyperspectral space imagery) and Uptime AI (AI-enabled predictive maintenance).
Fund size, team and credibility
ABV has not publicly disclosed a dedicated fund corpus, so any figure you see quoted elsewhere should be treated as speculation. What is public is credibility: in 2023 the firm received the Indian Venture and Alternate Capital Association's 'New Fund Entry – Outstanding Achievement of the Year' award, the apex industry body for PE-VC in India.
Founder Aryaman Vikram Birla holds an MBA with honours from Harvard Business School and sits on the boards of several group companies, including Grasim Industries, Hindalco Industries and Aditya Birla Fashion & Retail — giving the fund genuine access to the group. The firm is headquartered in Mumbai, at Birla Centurion in Worli, and describes its vision as being at the forefront of India's rise by backing the next generation of leaders.
Why it matters for founders
If you are building a consumer, fintech, health-tech or deep-tech startup in India, ABV offers something most VCs cannot: distribution muscle and industry access through one of India's largest conglomerates. Expect a long-term, conviction-led partner — but bring quality fundamentals, because that is the bar they publicly set.
