Chandigarh University's incubator CUBIC has signed a memorandum of understanding with 247VC Investment Trust to open up investment and mentorship pathways for quantum and deep-tech startups, the university announced on October 7, 2026.

The MoU was signed on the sidelines of the PRAGATI Q-FOUNDRY 2026 NQM Co-development and Venture Partnership Meet, held on September 29–30 in New Delhi. CUBIC has also become an academic and incubation partner for PRAGATI Q-Foundry 2026, a national initiative of the Ministry of Science and Technology aimed at accelerating the commercialisation of quantum technologies — with the university describing CUBIC as India's first university-led quantum incubator for deep-tech startups.

Under the agreement, startups associated with CUBIC get structured access to potential seed-stage and early-stage funding opportunities from 247VC, along with strategic mentorship and business support. CUBIC will identify suitable startups from its incubation ecosystem and facilitate introductions to the fund, subject to the investor's sector preferences and stage criteria.

The framework also provides for investor–startup interactions through pitch sessions, curated meetings and demo days. CUBIC will help eligible startups prepare business plans, pitch decks, financial projections and technology and IP documentation for fundraising, while 247VC will offer mentorship on fundraising, business development, commercialisation and market access. Potential follow-on investments may be considered as ventures progress — though the MoU is explicit that it is a collaboration framework and does not guarantee funding.

The national meet was addressed by Dr. Jitendra Singh, Union Minister of State for Science and Technology and Earth Sciences, and brought together startups, academic institutions, industry, investors and manufacturers to move quantum technologies from research towards validation and deployment under India's National Quantum Mission (NQM). The mission targets indigenous capability in quantum computing, quantum communication, quantum sensing and metrology, and quantum materials and devices.

"Our MoU with 247VC complements this effort by creating a structured pathway for eligible startups to engage with potential investors, strengthen their investment readiness and access strategic mentorship," said Jai Inder Singh Sandhu, Managing Director, Chandigarh University.

Why it matters for founders

Quantum and deep-tech founders often stall at the lab-to-market gap: the science works, but no investor speaks the language. A university incubator wired directly into a VC — with pitch sessions, demo days and follow-on potential — is exactly the bridge. If you're in quantum, photonics, semiconductors or advanced materials, CUBIC's pipeline is now one to watch.
